British collective Let the people speak brings DIY democratic decision-making to the Copenhagen climate summit. The Planetary Pledge combines techniques of interactive gameshow, live voting and pyramid scheme funding for an event this Friday December 18 in Copenhagen and on the internet. You still have time to propose planet-saving projects, also through a Facebook app, and to pledge $ 10 towards realizing the winning project.

A new organization to support co-operation in media art, The Finnish Media Art Network has been established. The network's founding members - AV-arkki, MUU, m-cult, Pixelache, Cartes, FiXC and Alternative Party - wish to promote conditions of media art by building collaborative information and documentation practices and by effecting cultural exchange and policies. In the ongoing streamlining of Finnish cultural policy, media art is too often seen as a subsection of the visual arts, whereas the organizations in the network underline the multidisciplinary practice in the field, and have already demanded that this should be reflected in the new structures of art administration.

Electronic art organizations are reflecting about two of the field's key forms of operation: the Lab and the Network. At Baltan laboratories, the expert meeting Future of the Lab debated future strategies for the media laboratory and the importance of research and production spaces for artists and creative professionals working with technology. Starting today, RIXC hosts Organized networks - a Training Programme in Cultural Network Management which looks into new approaches for sustainable cooperative networks, and their effective organization.
